Week Five

This week we had to create a piece inspired by one of the other students work in our class. I chose to use one of Saul pieces as inspiration. I used watercolor pencils and some ink to create this piece.

Special Addition Blog Post: Tatjana Jovancevic

2 weeks ago we attended Tatjana Jovancevic's presentation at the art gallery on campus. She talked about how she was from a war torn country and how that influenced her art. Tatjana also talked about how she was stuck in the US be cause of what was going on in her home country. She also expressed her love for the line and how it comes into play in her work. The piece that you see below was the one that stuck out to me the most. The use of wavy line and the colors really express a lively emotion. I personally believe that it expresses passion.

Week Four

     This week we had to work off the idea of using the line expressively. We also had to begin to shoe continuity between our work. I decided to use the main character of my previous works as the continuity and i would just put her in different settings. So this week I put her dancing on a stage. The line I used to create her dress were meant to create a flowing effect to express grace. And this week I also continued the use of watercolor pencils.

       This week I created another piece using watercolor pencils. When I made this piece I responded to a comment about trying to create the next scene from the art piece I presented last week. And here's what I came up with.

This week I created a piece using watercolor pencils. My inspiration for this piece was to take one of my characters and put them in a place, whether it be real or abstract.
